Part of the ‘Queens Grocers’ £25M refit was to fully refurbish the cellar to provide a wine bar and restaurant. The award-winning design by The David Collins Studio incorporated many unique features. The wine storage area houses not only white but red wine & champagne, all stored at the correct temperatures—which was no mean feat—it was based around the concept of the Radisson Skyline hotel at Stansted Airport.

Whittle used our inhouse manufacturing facility to produce the bar, furniture, wall claddings & WC vanity units and panelling. By contracting such a highly complex area to a specialist meant the main contractor, Chorus, could concentrate on the main refurbishment project safe in the knowledge that Whittle would deliver the wine bar to an exceptional standard to fit in with the strictest of deadlines.
